Golf is a Game for Everyone

Golf: a game of relaxation, frustration, and pure joy all rolled into one! But seriously, beyond the occasional "fore!" and the rouge misplaced shot, golf offers a unique set of benefits for everyone, regardless of age or gender.

James's take

For me, golf is the best escape. Seriously, it's the perfect excuse to get out in the fresh air, have some laughs, and enjoy a little friendly competition. We all need a break from the daily grind sometimes, right? A round of golf is one way to do just that.

But it's way more than just competition. For me, it's all about the social side of the game. There's nothing like cracking up with the guys after a terrible shot or celebrating a great one. Just being out on the course together, sharing the experience, is what it's all about. Plus, it's a way to stay active without feeling like you're stuck at the gym. Walking 18 holes is a surprisingly good workout! And let's be real, it's a great chance to unplug from all the screens. I know golf sometimes gets a reputation for being pricey, but it really doesn't have to be. Most courses are super affordable, and you can find some awesome deals on second hand clubs.

I definitely recommend giving golf a shot. You might just love it!

Emily's view

Golf isn’t just for the guys. Women's golf is booming, and I'm so glad it’s finally getting the air time it deserves. For me, golf is a fantastic way to connect with other women. It's a chance to share experiences, create lasting memories, and build friendships that extend beyond the course. There's a real sense of community among women golfers, and I've met some amazing people through the game.

But it's more than just social. Golf is a great mental challenge. It requires focus and thought. It's a chance to improve your concentration, develop your mental game and resilience. Being out in nature is so refreshing too, the peace and quiet is my favourite – it's my favourite way to de-stress and clear my head.

Plus, it's a low-impact exercise, so it's easy on the joints. Being someone who is still recovering from an ACL reconstruction and has fibromyalgia it’s an easy way to keep fit. And the best part? You don't have to be a pro to enjoy it. The handicap system makes it possible for players of all skill levels to compete fairly.

Whether you're looking for a new challenge, a way to connect with other women, or just a way to spend a day outdoors, I highly recommend giving golf a try.
